Остеопороз (ОП) в ревматологии рассматривается не только как самостоятельное заболевание скелета, характери- зующееся снижением прочности костной ткани и повыше- нием риска переломов вследствие уменьшения минеральной массы и плотности кости, изменением качества кости из-за нарушения микроархитектоники, накопления микроповре- ждений, нарушения минерализации и скорости ремоделиро- вания костной ткани. ОП – одно из наиболее тяжелых и ча- сто встречающихся осложнений течения большинства хро- нических ревматических заболеваний, а также противорев- матической терапии, в частности глюкокортикоидами (ГК).
